Journey to a Quilt

I used one of Robert Kaufman's fat quarter bundles. I cut them into strips and then also used white stripes cut from some yardage I had.

After making my blocks and attempting to square them up, I cut them way too small so instead of putting the blocks together, I sashed in between them...

This is just a pic of the binding....this quilt was made for my Auntie whose birthday is St. Patrick's Day so I put a little shamrock fabric in the binding...

I quilted lines in between the sashing and then did a X in the middle of each block. I also tied a button in the middle of all the white blocks...

Baby Shower with PaperTrey Ink!!

My baby shower was in May 2009 and I have been a fan of PTI (papertrey ink) for a long time....When this stamp set came out, I just knew I would use it for my baby shower (if I had a boy, which I did).....


These were my favor boxes...I had blue, white and brown chocolate sale boats and anchors inside...
This was my thank you note...
I showed my BFF what my decor was and she created several of these table decorations...Nichole Heady had a great tutorial on 3d boats HERE and my BFF just increased the size....

Sample Baby Shower Invites

As some of you may or may not know, my bestest friend Mo is pregnant with her third child!!! Of course I told her that I would love to do her invites and announcements (pictures of the other invite and announcement I did for her second child - my godson, will eventually be posted) so I came up with a girl sample and a boy sample (the same yet different colors)....Let me know what you think.....



The front of the card has an actual little wire hanger, the back is blank but would have the information for a shower typed in a really cute font.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!!!

Today is Monica's birthday - Monica is my bestest friend in the whole wide world. I have known her for ever!! I was reading on a blog about happiness and it made me think of all the things that me and Mo have gone through in life....we've been there for each other since I can remember. Her children are the apples of my eyeballs!! Johnny, who will be turning 12 in October is my angel. An ex-boyfriend, and my first true love, passed away (actually on Monica's bday 12 years ago) and I was in a bad depression. The only thing that kept me alive (seriously) is the fact that she was pregnant. I wanted to see my nephew (since I don't have bros and sis', my friends kids and boyfriends nieces and nephews are my nieces and nephews) being born and grow up. I'm so thankful for hanging around because I've watched Johnny go from a little man (he was a little man the day he was born) to a pre-teen and it's been exciting. Next is Ian, my godchild and Monica's second....I will have to tell the story of becoming a godmother the next time around....any who, Ian, Mr. Pistol is a hoot and riot to be around.....now Monica is pregnant with another. Around August 12th, she will find out if it's a boy or girl, regardless I'm so excited....I'm creating her baby shower invites (again, will post what the first ones looked like) and will be doing her announcements.....All I can say is Mo is the bestest friend in the whole wide world and I've never been more blessed to have her and her entire family in my life....

Okay, so I sort of lied....

I was going to post a picture of my "Alter This" and July Contest Kit Challenge with the hopes of giving it away as blog candy. Well low and behold, the designer tape, which I do love, is not doing it's job and not sticking down. I don't feel comfortable having some win something that I'm not really proud of because it's almost like it's falling apart. I will post some pictures of it later and if you're part of the RSS group, you can view my pictures in both folders. Sorry...I will have to get a nice little package going for another candy post later this week or next!!!

Auntie Margie's Wedding....

Auntie Margie is my boyfriend's aunt. She got married on Father's Day of last year. I was fortunate to be asked to be in the wedding. You do not know how long I've been waiting for these pictures. Auntie Margie has been very busy so I became proactive and sent her two CDs and a return envelope.....I got them in a couple of days. THANKS AUNTIE MARGIE!!

Now as you can see, the spray tan didn't really take effect. For those of you who don't know who I am, I'm the one that doesn't go......

OMG - CRAZINESS

Hey Everyone,

I have so much going on, not really, but for me, really....

My best friend and her family are coming up tomorrow to swim..Hopefully the weather will be good :-) Since she is bringing my two nephews and godson, I also invited my cousin and her kids (no word if they are going to make it) and a friend from work and her child....I cannot wait.

Even better? I'm actually going to go bowl in a tournament next weekend. I'm nervous and excited. It's not like I'm a good bowler but I do enjoy it!!

Alright, I will be posting pictures and videos from this weekend and my godson's birthday party from two weeks ago VERY SOON!! Promise...

I was "talking" via e-mail to my cousin Heather and told her I needed some pictures of the kids because I hadn't actually seen them since February at their co-birthday party so she sent me these and a video......

I have a SISTAH....

I have a new sistah and her name is Laura.....I only "got" her yesterday and we are already typing like old friends.....

I cannot tell you how excited I am to get to know her.....

We "hooked up" through a Bella Yahoo Group......you fill out a questionnaire and then the sistah moderator takes her time and matches people up. You get to know each other over a period of three months and do little things for each other....

My sistah lives in Texas and we are IM'ing as I type now so I gotta go....

Sorry I have been MIA lately. I just started bowling on the Summer Rejects league, Thursday nights and also joined my boyfriends league on Wednesday nights. We are doing okay.....

I have not created in so long....I NEED TO CREATE. Hopefully this weekend will be a ton of creating and a lot more blogging :-)

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Going through some things and haven't been in the mood to post anything....Also work is getting to get busy (until August!!!) so when I get home I usually just check my e-mail, watch some TiVo and go to bed :-(
I still need to take pictures of the Black and White with a Pop swap so hopefully, maybe this weekend.....
